The Unitarian Universalist Congregation
of the Catskills
Social Action Committee
presents:
Celebrate Buy Nothing Day !!
For
24
hours,
millions of people around the world
do not participate in
the
marketing mind-games,
and the frantic consumer-binge
that's become our
culture.
We
pause.
We
make a small choice not to purchase anything new.
We
shrink
our footprint and gain some calm.
Come and celebrate the
spirit of Buy Nothing Day with us
Saturday,
November 29th, 2008 10 AM - 2PM

electronics, tools, music, and just about anything else you
can think of.
Everyone is welcome! Bring your
own items to donate or swap, or just come
and see what's available.
(Sorry: no
old computer equipment and no clothes except
winter outerwear - coats, gloves, hats, sweaters....).
Refreshments
will be available (for a modest fee), as will

Freecycle:
Where one person's trash is
another's treasure! Our goal is to make
it easy for everyone in the area to find new homes for perfectly good
items rather than throw them away. In the process, we'll reduce waste,
save precious resources, ease the burden on landfills, and connect with
like-minded folks. Register at the following links to post
items to give away, or ask for items you're looking for.
